Ballmer Says We Don’t Need No Stinkin’ Yahoo
According to the April 24th WSJ, Steve Ballmer says that they don’t need Yahoo and that if things don’t go his way maybe Microsoft will move forward alone without Yahoo.
Why the change, the WSJ alleges that resistence from within Microsoft is the reason. I figure this can be attributed to the fact that there is no synergy in the acquistion. The sum of the companies would be less than two – meaning the website and search business would be entirely redundant.
Perhaps Microsoft has been unable to persuade major stockholders to see its way on the issue of merger/acquisition.
