Captivate GPS Issue Resolved – Galaxy S and Vibrant
UPDATE: ATT has made a fix available. Just update the phone and the GPS issues will be resolved.
For all those suffering from the Samsung Galaxy S GPS issue (especially those who have a Captivate or Vibrant) here are some settings that may work for you.
BEFORE MAKING THESE CHANGES WRITE DOWN YOUR DEFAULT SETTINGS. If anyone can give me the default AT&T settings, please post them as a comment.
OK – This is what worked for me:
Open the dialer (the green phone button) and enter: *#*#1472365#*#* This brings up a menu which will allow you to make the following changes.
Under Application Settings:
- Type: Tracking
- Test Mode: S/W Test
- Operation Mode: MS Based
- Start Mode: Hot Start
- GPS Plus: ON
- Dynamic Accuracy: ON
- Accuracy: 100
- Use Skyhook: ON
- Use PC Tool: OFF
Hit the Back button and go to SUPL/CP Settings
- Server FQDN Type: AUTO Config
- SUPL Secure Socket: ON
- AGPS Mode: SUPL
