Snapstream is hard at work on HD-PVR and BeyondTV Compatibility
An e-mail was accidentally sent to the public beta group for BeyondTV.
The interesting part of the e-mail dealt with the work Snapstream is putting into ensuring the HD-PVR is compatible with BeyondTV.
Here are the basics – “Lots of work done on various portions of the code to further improve compatibility with the Hauppauge HD-PVR.”
What is ready:
- Allow bitrate to be set
- Properly tag the files once recorded
- Allow setting audio and video inputs
- Added new default profiles for recording to h.264
The obstacles:
- Long term usage is still questionable without the device hanging
- Improving accuracy of seeking even more
- Handling resolution changes on the fly
- Motion blur on playback
It looks like in the upcoming months owners of the HD-PVR will be able to add BeyondTV to their choices for media center.
